My friend and I are reading towards a degree in education. One of our requirements is to go on teaching experience. We would love to go to Perkins School, but we do not know whom to get in touch with. Can someonw please help. We have tried the internet, but the information we got is a bit flimsy.
I'd just call the school, tell the receptionist you're interested in internship opportunities, and could they please direct you to the proper person to speak with.
I've been there, and there is a user on here who's mother works there, I could have her send you a message, the user that is. about it, or I could just direct her to this board if that will help, like I said, her mother works there, so she should be able to help you out on who to contact.
are you talking about Perkins School for the Blind?
it's in water town MA, and does different programs for outreach durring the summer as well as being a school for the blind
i would just call the main number and ask for Human services. thats a good place to start if you all are interested. you can look at the web site.

haha love your comment ashley :-) i am going to fine the number for the school so you all can ask for job requirements why was that put there haha just look at the web page of perkins school for the blind. : http://www.perkins.org/careers/application/ and just talk to them and they might be able to get some help. i know some jobs will require a college degree but i dont know about the like other things that are involved with the school.
uh, hmm, well you've been there, so, well, they do have a playground, hehehe, and a pool, and, a house, and just yeah. alright, I am going to so shut up now
yup :-) i agree with you :-) you can work in out reach program, do many different things at perkins school for the blind
the perkins web site is a good because it should answer any questions that might be need about want to get a job or call the school for the human researours if you need to look for more.

I am not looking for job guys. We wanna go there for Teaching Experience. It is like an internship but I am going to be evaluated by the university that we are currently studying at. We are in south Africa and we have tried to send e-mails but no one replies.
yes that would be one way to a teaching experience though. just look at the web site listed above which i have provided you and some where in there it should talk about internship i believe. i know they have ELP which is also listed on the web site as to what they do. just look at the website it should tell you all this information :-)
plus the website will give you all this information :-)
i know some where on the web site it should talk about internship.... plus if you just email the people at perkins they can give you the righr person who will help you with the internship from your college
thanks for all the response people, but having tried all that you have suggested with regards to me e-mailing no one has responded to my e-mail for weeks now. I am frustrated.
i know my mothers work there should be somewhere on there that you should be able to call them or email them. you just have to give them time. you could look in your country and then sometime become en ELP to be at my mothers work and then from there you could work at my mothers work. you just have to give them time
I've been to Perkins many many times, I dont go there for school, but i know a lot of people who work there if you're interested
i know people too because my mother works there as well.. i think in many of these post there should be at lest something about internship....
have you been able to fine something from the schools web site there charismatic?
Just try writing them a hard copy letter, because most times people take such letters more seriously. Good luck!

I have sent e-mails and have yet to receive a response. I am running out of time actually.
why does there have to be a time. you need to give the school time.
there is a time because I need to prepare many things like submiting application forms at the varsity. It is not just a matter of going for fun. This has got to do with my academics. I wouldn't go to such lengths if it was a recreational activity. But in anyway, it seems as if you do not understand.
well if you call the school or email the person of the school they should give you information. just maybe you should email them again.. i dont know. i dont know who the person you would talk to anyways about internall stuff like that. i know they have ELPs which is on nthe website too.. just go to the website

i know the site should have it says with hope hehe :-) the site should get you some number http://www.perkins.org i dont know the number for the main building hehe but if you look under contact them they should have a number...
